Loop the Lake returns Sept. 18

How fast can you loop Lake Lorraine on a stand-up paddleboard or kayak ? Put your speed skills to the test at the 2nd Annual Loop the Lake Race on Sunday, Sept. 18!

Lake Lorraine and Flow and Paddle are partnering to bring this one-of-a-kind event to Lake Lorraine for a second year. Live music and food vendors will also be onsite for a beautiful afternoon along the water!

MORE DETAILS

All race participants will be assigned a heat/race time. Walk-up registration will be accepted if space allows. Check-in for all races begins at 1 p.m. You must be checked in and ready to go a minimum of 15 minutes prior to your race time. All races will be timed, with the top finishers winning prizes.

LOCATION

The Loop the Lake Race will take place along the west side of Lake Lorraine. The launch will be from the southwest corner by Flow and Paddle.

COST

  • Advanced registration: $25 per person per race

  • Day-of registration: $40 per person per race

  • Register online here.

IF YOU’RE RACING…

Each participant receives:

  • Equipment for the race (board/kayak, PFD, paddle)

  • Race bib

  • Swag bag

  • Potential to win great prizes

If you want to participate in more than one race (i.e. SUP and kayak), you must register for both races. You may bring your own recreational SUP or kayak; please acknowledge you’ll be doing so on the registration page. SUP and kayak races are one person per craft.

Heats will be assigned prior to the day-of and we’ll let you know what time you’ll be racing. All participants must sign a waiver.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

  • Money — our vendors will take cash ($20 bills or lower, please) or cards. You can also hit the Lake Lorraine shops before, during or after the races!

  • Lawn chairs and blankets — there’s some seating around the lake but the grass along the lake shore is also perfect if you want to sit along the lake on the grass.

  • Bug spray and sunscreen — always good to have outside!

WILL THERE BE FOOD?

Food trucks and vendors will be onsite (details announced soon!). You can also swing by restaurants at Lake Lorraine and eat before the shows or get food to go and bring it with. See our restaurant options here.

WHAT ABOUT RESTROOMS?

We have a porta potty onsite.
