The Lake Lorraine development is perhaps the biggest retail story of the year.
The development located southwest of the intersection of Marion Road and 26th Street, covers a massive area that may seem tucked away behind Lowe's and Sioux Falls Ford. Don't be fooled. When the giant mixed-use development is complete, it will house everything from high-end townhomes and large retail to a hotel to small shops and offices.

Smaller retail, including Moe's Home Collection, opened on the development's western border on Marion Road.
Many of the larger stores at Lake Lorraine experienced their own mini-Black Friday's upon opening, with customers lining up in early morning hours for a first crack at the stores' offerings.
“While this has been a busy and exciting year, there is still a lot to come to this remarkable and energetic lifestyle center," said Steve Van Buskirk, president and owner of Van Buskirk companies, the co-developer of Lake Lorraine.
