How to Help Local Retailers

Now more than ever, local businesses need your support. The Lake Lorraine development is home to several national brands and local businesses. They’re managed by local people and employ local people who call the Sioux Falls area their home. Due to the COVID-19 situation, these businesses have adapted and adjusted their business practices to keep employees and customers safe; in many cases, this means temporarily closing their physical locations. Here’s a few ideas shared by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on ways you can help support these local businesses.

Gift Cards

Support local businesses now by purchasing gift cards and use them to shop later! You can also book future appointments for services. Help infuse some cash in our local businesses and enjoy a trip to your favorite store later. Or, use the gift card for online purchases now!

Get it to go

Our lakeside eateries miss you, too — but you can still take your favorite flavors home with online ordering and curbside pick-up. The SandBar and Grill and Capriotti’s are both offering their signature items to go.

Shop Virtually

Many Lake Lorraine stores are adapting to serve the public in ways that are safe and healthy! You can order online, work with a designer or stylist over the phone or Facetime and virtually shop for products. Some stores also offer delivery or curbside service. And if you still want that personal service in person — though six-feet away — some shops are also still open. Show Some Love

Now is the time to show some love to your favorite stores! Review them on social media (or places like Yelp!), share any online specials or sales they may be having, recommend their services to family and friends and engage with them so they can feel the community support.
