The 3rd Annual Sertoma Shine and Show car show has a new location for 2023 — Lake Lorraine. Come out to the CarsForSale.com parking lot on Saturday, June 3, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The Shine and Show is free to attend and show. 

All makes and models are welcome at the Shine and Show. It is a no entry fee show with no pre-registration required. There will be DJ music from Dave Rowe. Food trucks include: SDSU Ice Cream Truck, Backyard BBQ, Sisouvanh Egg Rolls, and Minnehaha Sertoma selling soda and water.

Freewill donations will be accepted to raise funds for the All Abilities Playground Equipment. All proceeds and donations directly benefit the Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma charities, children’s christmas party, hearing aid assistance and Sertoma Park.

About the All Abilities Playground:

This playground is part of a partnership between the Noon Sertoma Club and the City of Sioux Falls to add and replace play pieces at Sertoma Park that will be able to be used by children of all abilities. The three-year fundraising campaign aims to raise $500,000. The initial phase of this project will replace existing pieces at Sertoma Park and with All Abilities Equipment. In a 2009-17 study, the CDC estimated that approximately one in six children aged 3-17 have one or more developmental disabilities. The planned Me2® equipment meets the seven Principles of Inclusive Playground Design developed by PlayCore, in partnership with Utah State University, Center for Persons with Disabilities. All Abilities Equipment provides intentional opportunities for physical, cognitive, communicative, social/emotional, and sensory development.

 

About the Sioux Falls Noon Sertoma Club:

Sertoma is one of the oldest service clubs in the U.S. Sertoma means Service To Mankind. Dating back to 1929, the Sioux Falls Sertoma Club has been doing just that. Noon Sertoma does yearly hearing test for first, third and fifth graders in the Sioux Falls area and has tested more than 9,000 students in a school year.
