Drive-in double feature at Lake Lorraine Sept. 6

Celebrate the end of summer at Lake Lorraine’s Family Fun and Movie Night on Sunday, Sept. 6. The double-feature drive-in movies being shown — SCOOB! At 6 p.m. and The Sandlot at 8 p.m. —  were chosen by voters via a Facebook poll. Space is limited and tickets can only be purchased onsite. The cost is $10 per car and you can attend one or both movies.

The movies will be shown on the east side of the lake in the parking lot south of Hobby Lobby — which also serves as the site of the weekly Farmers Market. Sound will be transmitted to each car via an FM transmitter. You can also bring your own chairs to sit in front of your vehicle or closer to the screen, listening through speakers. Lake Lorraine developers are partnering with DJ Jer Events to produce the Family Fun and Movie Night.

Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase during both movies, including the SDSU Ice Cream Truck and Karma’s Korn. You can also swing by food options at Lake Lorraine and eat before the show or order food to go and eat at the drive-in. The SandBar and Grill is offering a special discount for takeout orders on Sunday; use “drivein” when checking out online.
