Celebrate Halloween at Lake Lorraine Saturday, Oct. 24

Trick-or-treat with characters, “scary” drive-in movies, Haunted House Decorating Contest, photos and more are all part of the fun as part of the 2020 Halloween at Lake Lorraine celebration! This is the third year the westside development has organized a community Halloween event. Because of the ongoing global pandemic, events have been tweaked to keep attendees and businesses safe, while still enjoying Halloween activities.

Haunted House Decorating Contest

Open to all houses in the Sioux Falls area
Entries accepted until Sunday, Oct. 25; judging will take place Wednesday, Oct. 28

The inaugural Lake Lorraine Haunted House Decorating Contest is a fun, safe way for families to celebrate Halloween and to check out Halloween-themed decorated homes! If you decorate your home for Halloween — this event is for you! Submissions from the Sioux Falls area will be accepted until Sunday, Oct. 25. It's FREE to enter. Entries will be posted beginning Oct. 15. We will crown an overall winner(s) (and depending on the number and type of entries, additional winners may be announced as well). All entries will be shared on the Lake Lorraine website and Facebook page — this is a great family activity or date night over Halloween weekend!

Trick-or-Treat

This year we’re taking trick-or-treating outside along the west shore of Lake Lorraine. Attendees will park in the Carsforsale.com parking lot and then head to the north to enter the Lake Walk path. From there, you’ll travel approximately one-third of a mile along the Lake Walk and see fun characters and receive candy and other goodies from Lake Lorraine businesses. There will be plenty of photo opportunities along the way! The event ends near the south end of the Carsforsale.com parking lot, so there’s no busy streets to cross and the pathway is perfect for strollers and wagons. Be sure to come in costume and bring a treat bag to hold your goodies!
